Seeking internal safety and trust

Or, the present, true moment of your hand over your heart while focusing on your breath? In and out.  That simple and that true.

Your internal sense of safety anchors and steadies you if you accesss it.

How you can access your internal safety and trust in the midst of future worries and past trauma flashbacks

Much is written about the importance of play and the exploration of creativity and of nature for children for their sense of safety and healthy development.

Well, us adults are all just big kids!  

  • Start with taking in a deep breath and reflecting on what activity you loved to do as a child.  Did you feel most at home with yourself when you were coloring, painting, running in the grass in your bare feet, banging a drum?  

If you can find that joyful calming childhood memory within, start to do it.  Determine a time of day and length of time that is doable for you.  Start with just once per day and see if this grows naturally for you.  These activities will become as set and steady as brushing your teeth and meeting your deadlines, AND will have the added benefit of resetting your Central Nervous System.
